need help on brushes in the starter

Hi,<br /> i have a 1985 evinrude 115 vro and the starter is acting up again. so i took it apart and discovered that the base that the 4 rushs sit in has broke. can this be causing all my starting problems. And if so can i just buy that pieces or is it mOunted in there permantly .how much does a lower assembly cost for A BOSCH STARTER.

Hi Texas angler<br />The end cap assembly part# 328281 should cost around $37. give or take.
