The boat is a '97 Larson 206SEI with a Mercruiser 5.7L and Alpha 1.
While looking for a leak in my power steering system I discovered that my cooler isn't connected to anything for support. It just hangs by the hoses at the back of the engine. There appears to be a bracket attached to the cooler with a hose clamp but the bracket isn't bolted to anything. There are two hole at the back of the engine below the distributor that look like they might be where it should bolt.
I can't seem to find any diagrams or pictures of this. I tried 1/4" bolts in the holes, they were too small. I tried 5/16 bolts and they didn't want to thread in. I wouldn't think this engine would need metric bolts but maybe it does.
Can anyone help me with a diagram or picture of how this should be mounted? Also, what size and thread bolts need to be used? It's a very difficult place to access on my boat. I can only get one hand in there at a time and I can only half way see what I'm doing.
Thanks,
