hi everyone!!<br />this is the first time i own a mercury outboard.<br />i purchased this outboard with a boat.<br />the outboard was used very little then it change hands and i dont know what went wroung becasue<br />all the wireing inside is in real bad condition,<br />also looks like they tried to install a new trigger but then couldnt get it back together.<br /><br />i spoke with a mecanic that saw this motor once and he sed that he thinks the power pack is shot.<br /><br />anyways..my problem is that i do not know if is missing any parts.<br /><br />how can someone test a power pack ,,,and also how can someone know if a stator is bad.?<br /><br /> the motor is a mercury 500 year 1976<br />thunderbolt ignition.<br /><br /><br />.basicly im looking for some help with any person that might have a motor like this one and can<br />take the time to take some pics of the motor inside and send them to me. i want to see how<br />is that trigger supouse to be engaged to the throttle arm.<br /><br />were can i get parts at good price??<br />i also need a new wireing harness and control box.<br /><br />I KNOW this might be a lot of questions to ask but dont know of another place to start.<br /><br />the outboard is so CLEAN that i think is very worth it to repair.<br /><br />besides i paid only 380 dollars for boat ,motor,and trailer.<br /><br />thanks very much.<br /><br />luis
