need help unlatching (teleflex steering) system.

I bought this teleflex steering set on ebay and i inserted the cable into the part that controls the steering and now i cant get it back out for installation on boat!does anyone know how to get this bad boy back out,the system works great and i need to get the end out for running under my center console boat floor.theres a small indention near the cable end that looks like it has something to do with this removal,but i dont know if the wheel has to be turned one way or the other or anything else.Any help would be awesome people,thanks.

The release key is missing, but that's no big deal. It's basically a cotter pin. Get a cotter pin or screwdriver with a diameter of approximately 1/8". Push it into the hole which is about 1/2" from where the cable went in. Pull on the cable sheath while pushing the pin in. This should release the sheath. Turn the steering shaft and unwind the cable from the mechanism.

so put it in and turn the wheel clockwise or what?
