I have a 1986 115hp Suzuki on a 18' Hydra Sport. Granted I know that the boat, itself is a heavy boat, but I feel that the boat should go faster than it does right now.

The motor has recently been gone through and is running great. However when I purchased the boat (used) it had a stainless steel prop on the motor with what appears to be a "1986 7". (3 blade)

In addition to the prop already described the previous owner threw in an alum. prop which I've never used. This prop has "13X14X17" stamped. (3 blade)

I am up for any suggestions. I'm not sure if the alum. prop is worth trying or not. What I am looking for is a few more mph and a less time in the hole. As slow as the boat is right now I do not think it would even pull a skier out of the water.

Any suggenstions, or help would be greatly appreciated in matter.

Thanks,

Don

In order to help you out, the pros that post in here will need some more information from you...

ESSENTIAL DATA REQUIRED
When posting a question about propellers, you cannot get a reasonable answer unless you provide the following information in your post: Items 1-4 are essential for meaningful response to most questions.
1) Performance issue you are trying to correct.
2) Current prop manufacturer, model, aluminum or stainless and as a minimum.
3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required).
4) Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load (very helpful)
5) Engine/drive make, model, year, and HP
6) Boat make model, year, length and weight
