I am working on a 1984, 115, 6 cylinder, serial 6480282.
The trim / tilt is leaking very badly. I need help with the decision to rebuild or replace.
Can anyone help me with identifying the seal and check valve kits I would need to rebuild the unit? From what I see, I might need a Tilt Cylinder Repair Kit, 25-41478A1 at about $100 and an O-ring Kit at about $130 and a Check Valve Kit at about $40. Subtotal $270 for parts. Does this seem correct?
I also need to know if this 1984 unit is 2-wire or 3-wire.
I have looked on line for used assemblies and think I can get into one for between $300 and $400.
Given my lack of rebuild experience, I might be better off buying a salvage assembly.
Any advice is welcome and appreciated.
