Need help with a 25 hp Johnson -- missing mod./serial # plate

I just got a Johnson Seahorse 25 hp - looks to be a 1980's vintage or so. The model #; serial # plate on the mounting bracket is not on the motor (rivots look as if they have corroded away).

I know there was some info. regarding "what year is my motor" on the now unreadable FAQ section, but as I recall - it was just how to look up your model number. Any other ways to get an idea of what year/model this motor is? Maybe by looking for key part numbers or something like that?

It looks to be a good motor and I'd like to know the model # for getting parts and so on - any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, P239

Have a look on the side of the powerhead for a quarter sized, convex disc. The model number of your motor is stamped into it.

Xcusme,
The disk was painted-over when the powerhead was repainted - but I could still make out the model # -- the 25 hp is a 1982.
Thank you very much for the info.
