I need to know on a dt 140. were does the exaust exit when it is jet pumped. i think that all the exaust comes from the hole right below the engine on back of motor. is so has any one ever tried to make some sort os exaust baffle to reduce noise

Those holes at the top are the relief ports, most of the exhaust goes out through the middle of the propeller. It's called "thru-hub exhaust".

With your outboard jet, the exhaust exits through a tube placed in the middle of the water column that shoots out the back of your pump. When you are on plane, your exhaust exits above the surface of the water making it much louder than a prop which exits underwater. If noise has become a bigger priority than shallow water running, you might want to trade for a 4 stroke prop. That being said, if I get passed by a objet with 6ft of flexible tubing and a Midas muffler sporting hydrofoils, I'll know that it's you.
