I have a 18' center console bayliner with a 90 hp mercury. Is a project for me and my son. We bought it stripped down and we are rebuilding from scratch... I need help with the gauges, for example water pressure, fuel, rpm, mph, etc.... How could i get a diagram on how to wire them.... I would pay someone but the satisfaction of my son and i to do it by ourselves is greater than what money could buy... Please if anyone could help i would really appreciate it....

Do you have the s/n of the engine so we can get you the wiring diagrams?

There is no standard way to wire them. I will assume the motor is mid-eighties or newer, and give you the cooresponding wiring colors.

All the gauges may be powered by the purple wire. Black is ground and they will need that as well. Grey is tach sender. Water pressue gauge is mechanical so it just gets black and purple and the water tube. Same for the speedo. it runs off a pitot on the transom. Fuel will have a sender from the fuel tank plus purple and black. The fuel tank must be grounded. Standard color for the sender wire is pink.

Gauges are wired like shown in the diagram below. Where the diagram says "12 volts from ignition switch" that means the "A" (accessory) terminal.
