i have recently aquired a johnson electramatic super seahorse 60hp motor and i need some parts for it. the motor is from the 1960's ('62 probably) and the choke has like a rubber seal on it that needs to be replaced but i don't know where i could buy it. also i was wondering if running straight gas through a 2-stroke motor would make it seize up? all help is appreciated.

The only oil your 2 cycle motor has to lubricate the engine is the TC-W3 oil that you mix with your gas. Without that oil the engine will certainly bind - and burn.

Never run a 2 stroke without oil. Would you run your car without oil? It's just in a different place but all engines need lubrication.

try vintageoutboards.com for parts.

Trying to figure out what seal you are talking about on the choke. Do you mean the square diaphragm? Or the check valve below it? The diaphragm is part #378133 and the check valve & seat assy is 378334. From your friendly local dealer or ishopmarine on line.

Probably doesn't much matter if you ran it without oil. In that case just put it out by the curb for the trash pickup.

You may want to check these guys out.

Located in Michigan, they are the GURU's of Johnsons. I brought in a 59 10hp for a little service on the carb and insinuated they may have a hard time finding parts. They didn't think that was old, had the parts and fixed it right the first time.

Good Luck
