Well just bought this craigslist special recently and previous owner removed latch to sundeck at some point and did not reinstall. Sundeck/hatch blew off when going down highway and I never did find it. Most difficult part of rebuilding is that I haven't had a pattern to go off of. well I got a rough draft of it installed today. Only issue at the moment is that it only opens about a quarter of the way. There was previously a piano hinge there couldn't find a replacement so I ended up going with 4 door hinges instead. Only problem is that since the entire deck is recessed into the hole the board hits on the back to the boat itself. Should the deck open all the way and if so what should I be doing differently?
The only thing I can think of is moving it forward more on the hinges but then there will be a really big gap in between deck and boat.
