I have an old 25 evinrude a 73' model to be exact. I want to put a temp gauge on my boat. My girlfriend wants to learn how to drive my boat and see doesnt know what to look for if the water pump isnt working. I dont want the boat to leave her by herself in the middle of no where. so how can I install a temp gauge on my motor. I dont have a telltale pee hole, and I REALLY dont want to drill a hole in the thirty year old motor. what temp should the motor be running at normally? I have heard about other water pressure gauges, but I want a temp gauge. will the ones that they sell at napa work? thanks for the help guys.

Any temp gauge will work as long as the scale will accurately read as low as your temperature operating range.(140-160F) Some automotive gauges won't accurately read that low, because its at the extreme end of their range....

For hints on mounting the sender Click here

(just remember, a pressure gauge gives early warning, temp gauges are too late)
