Today I just changed my water pump and impellar on a 1990 Force 150. I ran into some problem trying to get the old plastic water seal tube that connect from the water pump to the bottom of the engine. While I was using my wrench hitting down ward to get the plastic wate seal off the tube. I think I might of disconnected the tube from the engine while hitting it downward.
I can just push it back upward but I'm afraid it might not be connected where it suppose to be and I don't see anyway of seeing it beacuse I can't anything under the case. Do the water tube connect to any particully hole on the engine? Is it safe just to push it back upward and continue on?

Pic of the water tube.
http://webpages.charter.net/krayy/wp.html

The water pipe is held at the top with a grommet (rubber). Tilt motor, use a flash light to look-see where hole is. Lube top end of pipe with vasoline and poke it bake up the hole.

I can't see thru the hole becasue the water tube is still dangling with the grommet holding it from completely fallen out. If I pull the water tuble completely out I don't see anyway of putting it back with without taking it apart. I never taken an outboard apart before but it seem like a lot of disassembling of parts.
