Re: Need Help

Yea what oops said. It dosent matter really as long as you seal up that deck the right way, water will not get in there and you can pretty much use anything you want. You can even use exterior anti-skid paint from the big box stores, but if you go that route be prepaired to paint the deck about every year though. That is the cheap way and looks pretty good too but the most important thing is really really seal the deck first with fiberglass and resin so that water does not get into there and you are not doing the same thing in a couple of years. Ive seen a guy use thompsons water sealer on his deck and i think that is going to be dangerious as the wood is going to suck up water like a sponge, and his boat is going to weigh a few thousand pounds and the axle of his trailer is going to break, of the wench cable is goint to snap as he is loading his 4 thousand pound boat onto the trailer.

Re: Need Help

I used marine vinyl. As Oops said there are many options, just stay away from carpet.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: Need Help

Hydro-turf (or any carpet with rubber backing) will hold moisture in. If you use it you'd be a lot better off making it removable.
A few years ago I renovated a cockpit sole with a 2 part epoxy paint. before applying, I added a little sand for texture. I sold that boat 10 years later and it still was looking great.
