Hi, my name is Brian Honeycutt, I’m 20, I live in NC, and my friend has a boat that I’m thinking about buying. On the side of the boat, it has "17 LUXURA" written on it with vinyl letters. I think it might be an armada Luxura but I’m not sure if this is true. I can't find any info anywhere about this boat. If it helps it has a 3.0 L Mercruiser with Alpha One out drive. It was built in 93 and it is in perfect condition. It just had a motor rebuild, which I was there when it was done, and it has a new paint job that I helped due, all new wiring which I did with the help of my dad who is a professional electrician for Nadep working on planes, and all new vinyl which I also did with the help of the local marine upholstery shop, and with the help of the marine upholstery shop I also had a new bimini made. I’ve been working on this boat for about a year now redoing absolutely everything on it and it's been sitting in my yard for the past summer and my friend now wants to know if I want to buy it from him. I’ve been boating my entire life, just this past summer my dad sold our boat, and I’ve been looking for one that I can buy for myself. And that way my dad can have himself a flat bottom and I can have my v-hull. In addition, I need to know if anyone has any history, comments, or anything that might pertain to this boat. Moreover, I need to know if it is worth $3000 and if no what do you think is a good price. Absolutely any info pertaining to this boat or armada boats in general would be greatly appreciated. Since I work at West Marine finding parts should be easy but with out knowing the specifics of the boat I don't know if what I order is right. PLEASE HELP ME WITH ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING YOU CAN COME UP WITH ON ANYTHING IN THIS MESSAGE!

simply based on everything you know about the boat, it sounds like you think it's a good deal. if it feels right, go for it. can't comment on price, but if it's truly mint, $3k sounds about right (of course offer $2.5k). good luck-

Re: NEED HELP!!!!

Thanx, and I think it's a product of Armada Powersports, who makes hi-performance boats and if that's true than I think this boat might be worth more.

Yeah, I'm going to start at $2K and work my way up. Based one the name LUXURA and the fact that, if it is truly made by Armada Powerboats, then it's a classic design and it should be worth more. In addition to the description I said earlier, the name LUXURA describes just the amount of luxury this boat has. It is probably the most well finished boat of its time that I have ever seen and, in my opinion, could compete with any 17' bow rider on the market today.

Re: NEED HELP!!!!

careful there, brian....keep an objective opinion.

it really helps that you've seen the ins and outs of the boat. you have more info about that boat than the vast majority here....unless someone else has one. have a pic?

have you looked at other boats that cost the same? that's really the only way to see if you're getting a deal.

you can also look at www.nadaguides.com but that's just book value, doesn't mean that's what that actual boat is worth.

there are lots of 17 foot bowriders out there, not too many of them hold value because of their design or maker...it's all about the condition.

keep in mind that you may decide to sell this boat someday...will you be able to get what you paid for it or close to it?

good luck with your decision, you've come to the right place to talk boats.

Re: NEED HELP!!!!

True and nadaguides doesn't have it. As for a picture, I'm going to try to get one, but imagine a 93 sunbird powered by a Mercruiser. It has all new paint everywhere even engine and bilge was repainted. It has only been in the water about ten hours, just long enough to break the motor back in, since it had a complete restoration. To give you an idea of what happened the entire boat was striped to just the hull and repainted, upholstered, and rewired before a complete rebuild with all new hardware down to the screws holding the rub-rail on. And new rub-rail. The only thing wrong is the carpet is starting to rip up in the bow because of sliding my wakeboard up and down it. But if it had an OMC on it I would swear it was a Sunbird.
