1986 225 VRO, Freshly tuned up, Compression is good, rebuilt carbs, new fuel line, clamps, and primer, new plugs @ .040, linkage sync done, timing set 18 deg. @ wot,( 4deg. atdc @ idle ) starts and idles good, (used to sneeze, shake and stall) runs awesome at mid range and wot, still not the greatest at idle, but these things never were, problem is it back fires through exhaust and some times stalls after backfire.I did the carbs yesterday and tested it on the water was trying to set idle with muffs on today, should it be in the water to do this ??
