need info on 2004 50 hp johnson lower unit

Have a 2004 50hp Johnson and it keeps tearing out pinion gear and forward gear. I was told today after putting in the gears for the 2nd time that the lower unit housing my be warped please help? Never hurd of it before? Cant afored to keep putting in 500.00 at a time

welcome to iboats. 1 st question do you slip it into gear slowly. if so this does damage. the shift should be very deliberate and fast. never heard of your problem thou. has anyone contacted the Region Service Rep for BRP?
