Jabba, we need to know the prop manufacturer and model of your prop, as well as the diameter and pitch of it. We also need to know the max RPM range of your motor as well as the gear ratio of the foot, and preferably a picture of the anti ventialtion plate with a board under the keel sticking out to vent plate so we can see how high the vent plate is above the bottom of the boat.
After this we need the maximum RPM you are turning with a GPS speed if possible, but definitely the speed as well. With this information we can help you attain the right prop for your boat.
Welcome to the forum Jabba.

I also have a 1998 19 Bayfisher with a 150 Yamaha but I do have a jackplate. My 150 has the 1:86 ratio and I think yours has a 2:1 ratio. I run a lot of different props depending on what we're doing that day. I can also tell you that the ultimate prop for that boat is a Turbo Ultima 4. You'll need a little more height than you can get with the motor mounting holes but you don't necessairly need a hydraulic plate, although it's sure nice when water gets thin. The setback also helps since you're carrying a lot of weight in the bow.

The Ultima 4 has a tremendous holeshot even at high jackplate settings, carries the boat well in the mid range and has a good top end. You won't even need the tabs to get on plane if you don't want to use them. BTW - I really like the recessed tab deal. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help locating a prop.

I see you're in Lakeland. Let me know if you ever get to Charlotte Harbor, we'll meet up and you can run a couple of my props.
