I used this stuff. Took a piece of the old cable to HD and compared sizes. They sell it by the foot. Get some extra, It's cheap. Everbilt 3/32 in. - 1/8 in. x 250 ft. Wire Rope Galvanized Vinyl Coated-11950 at The Home Depot

Thanks GA! The good pics/diagrams at the address shows my needs to replace my ?Sun Worn Cable?. Plus I?ll take pics of the spool to study.

After a while the vinyl coating cracks and exposes the wire to rust (even when galvanized) leading to misery at the worst time. LOL

Warning - Re-wrapping the drum can be like playing with a ball of snakes. It has a mind of it's own.

Thanks for the warning! After seeing a strap/web/etc for quick tie off got onto the rear pulley and caused some of the under the back corner?s plastic to slide and cause resistance, I might try some liquid tape (to reinforce the plastic that is still there for a month (until the registration expires).

I?m considering retiring the 1968 15? Raycraft fiberglass boat that did a good job in the lakes and stumps. If I find the Time/Interest/Energy, I?ll consider a mid size Aluminum Boat and my 35 HP. Then stay out of open water vs Creeks, Channels, Small Rivers, Etc.
