Hi all. I have a cracked 1987 3.7 block and need a replacement rebuildable core. Any suggestions?

I have found one located in Canada but am unable to find shipping for under $300. Does anyone have a shipping recommendation? I've tried Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, and Yellow freight.

I live in Seattle and would 200mi to pick one up if available.

Re: Need Mercruiser 470 3.7 L block

I see used 3.7L engines on eBay frequently, and ahve become familiar with quite a few sites for parts since I have an 89 3.7L.

I get boating magazine and there are a lot of advertisements for blocks, rebuilts, etc. Maybe a look through one on the newstand (or buy) will turn up an outfit.

This one site a lot of remanufactured parts, blocks, engines etc. Check the site and give a call. http://www.marineparts.com/

Here's one with free shipping on orders over a hundred bucks...http://mercruiserparts.stemtostern.com/MercruiserParts/mercruisermodels.asp

Remanufactured 3.7L http://marineengineparts.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page29.html

Breezeworks...specializes in new and used parts for 3.7l's - Completely rebuilt one just sold for $1095, supposedly more to come.
http://www.breezeworks.net/ - I've purchased from these guys, most comprehsive site for 3.7L stuff. I don't know why they also sell watches though....

Why not look up JASPER ENGINES and get it locally with a decent guarentee?

Re: Need Mercruiser 470 3.7 L block

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm really just interested in a block and not a reman. If I put it together myself I won't need a guarentee.

I get my kicks by doing my own work so buying a reman, allthough probably as cost effective, almost feels like cheating.
