Thanks UU and Rodbolt for the reply on my stuck Duoprop question. I took the boat to a dealer and he got the prop nut and cone off but cant't get the forward prop off due to corrosion..did I mention that they are stainless steel props? Says he needs to cut it off!
Need some info on a good place to purchase props.
Found a set on e-bay, but they are calling them a DP-F5 set and the only markings on mine are 13905 on both props. The drive unit is a DP-C1 as I said before a 1994 model. Engine is a Volvo 1994 5.7 Gi.
Thanks for any input
Lee

Re: Need New DuoProps

Go to boatfix dot com. I buy most of my stuff there. Excellent prices, availability and the service is unbeatable. I bought props for my Merc Bravo III from them last year.

ooowwwwwwwww
man now is when it gets expensive. I would use a torch and heat the props until the hubs melted then cut off the old hubs woarst case is you have to replace the inner and outer shaft seals. adds an extra hour. those props can get very expensive. with aluminium props its not worth the cost. with stainless, espesially if they are not wasted, it is worth the cost. takes 15 min or so a prop to melt them off. takes 15 min or so per hub to use a side grinder with a 1/8th cut off whhel. carefully cut away the rubber of the old hub. then line up on a groove in the splines and make a lateral cut in the hub. open up the crack with a cold chiesel and hammer and it will slide right off. minor abrasions on the splined area wont hurt and can be dressed with a 3 cornered file.but cutting a stainlees wheel takes a long long time and lots of grinding wheels.
torch time baby.
good luck and keep posting
see I told ya I am lazy :)
