I have read several threads in the past where they say a BRP marine dealer can help you with this replacement. Good luck

I`ve been to both OMC and Merc looking for a replacement key.Usually just take the controls(or the boat if the controls are mounted)to the dealer and they bring a key ring out and try them until they find one that works. There are only about a dozen different keys for them(Merc or OMC).Ithink the last one cost me $12.

As Will said, take the key to a BRP dealer and they should be able to match it up.

The key blanks are not readily available anywhere. The Bombardier factory makes/cuts the key and stamps them with a number. Take the stamped number on your current key to a dealer and they will get you an exact replacement replacement. If you ever lose all your keys, they key number is stamped on the barrel of the key switch-viewable from inside the factory control box.

Try Stevens Instrument Company in Waukegon, Il. Google them. I got a key for a few bucks for my 1971 control box.

I have quite a few spare keys left in my remaining stock. Keys are replaced by number.

Look directly at the ignition switch where the key is inserted. You will see a number there. What is that number?

Thank you! The number on the key is 59.
