need old merc parts...circa 1965

hello all, i am in need of a lower gear case for a 1965 merc 500 50hp. my case is freeze cracked by the previous owner and can't be repaired, or so says my local merc dealer. if anyone has a used case or has a lead on one i would be very greatful. Anthony

I have one laying around I think. It is the Merc 500 50 Hp correct? If so good posibility. Do you need just the case or whole lower with gears???

if you have the whole gear case assembly with the gears i would prefer it, if they are runnable. when i got this motor it had the propshaft removed and the guy i bought it from is in the process of getting me the parts he removed. they are in a box somewhere he says. what sort of condition is your unit in?<br /><br />Anthony

The unit I have now is in need of a little help. Case is great condition. Driveshaft is a little messed up starting to corode. Not a stainless shaft. I can get you one for 175 delevered in good shape!! let me know

hi i have been out of town for the past week. my boss called that night and i had to leave asap. you said you had a lower gearcase assembly. is it the four bolt housing? (the bolts that hold it to the center section, i think). if so then i need it. shall i call you?<br /><br />anthony
