Need owners manual for Chaparral 1990 1900SL

Just Bought my first boat. A 1990 Chaparral 1900SL has a mercruser 4.3 I/O. Took to lake and noticed bilge does not come on automatically and the trim gauge works but is off and am in need of the owners manual upon google search nothing much found. Can anybody please help. Thanks

You don't need an owners manual. You need a repair manual. They should available on line to order.

Look around on amazon or your favorite bookstore for the "12 Volt Bible" which is a very valuable reference

Keep in mind that Chaparral did not manufacture the engine/outdrive nor did they manufacture the radio, instruments, bilge pump or any of the other accessories. Therefore the only documentation you will get for any of this stuff is the pamphlets that the accessory manufacturer sent with the stuff. The engine/outdrive was provided by Mercruiser or Volvo so service manuals are available from them and some are downloadable via the web. Owners manuals have 90% safety related stuff in them and very little actual repair information.

Yep the owners manual to me is just a novelty that relays the obvious to you. The individual manuals for the accessories could be somewhat helpful. Some boats have a rocker switch that sets the bildge to auto on or off/on. Of course the bildge pump itself could be bad which is easily available at WalMart. So really there isnt any kind of wiring diagram out there? Or some kind of fuse list. That's really all I'm looking for. Thanks have tried searching for repair manual as well no luck so far.

May be a longshot given its age but maybe try the Chaparral.com owners forum. It's very active with helpful Chap owners. I presume your boat has circuit breakers?
