Need part number for tiller handle?

I have a 1980 Mercury 9.8 and need to know the part number for the tiller handle. How can I find out what it is or can someone help me out.<br />Thanks.

Serial number is 5543834.

bearcamp, there are websites that have exploded views of Mercury outboard engines and associated parts lists. The one I'm familiar with is mercruiserparts.com - search for parts by picture and follow menues for your serial number.

I entered your serial # and it was not recognized.Probably because it's over 20 years old.Best bet is to call Mercury
