Hi,
I'm currently running a 13 5/8 x 13 prop on my 1994 75 yamaha enduro outboard. I'm considering going to a 13x19 as the old prop has seen better days( bent and pitted). At 5000 rpm I'm getting 29mph (gps) with the old prop. The boat is a 21ft flat about 5 ft wide on the stern weighing about 1500 lbs. My question is would the 19" drag the rpms down too much and would I be better off going with a 15" or 17" pitch? The engine was supplied with a 13x17 from the factory. The gear ratio for this engine is 2.33. Hope I have included enough info to get an answer. I'm not worried about hole shot as I'm not towing any skiers, I use the boat for fishing and pleasure. Thanks for your time guys.

At only 5000 rpm you sure don't want to go with anymore pitch. If you can raise the motor to gain rpm then you might go to a 15. Are you sure the motor is running correctly?

Re: Need prop help please!!!!!!!!

sorry the rpms should have read 5900 not 5000 as stated. motor works like new as far as that goes. I was thinking the factory recommended and supplied general usage prop was a 13x17 so I was thinking a 13x19 might give me a little more top end speed without losing too much rpms. Still think 19 is too much? I have a chance to buy a 12 3/4 x 13 ss prop fairly cheap would that be a better option? thanks again

I'd think a 15p would be good.

19 would most likely be too much.
