I recently purchased a 1975 Johnson Stinger 2 outboard (75hp)...the prop needs replaced and after removing it I can't find any serial/model/part numbers anywhere on it...when I try to search I get nowhere...can anyone point me in the right direction as to EXACTLY what prop I need?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Need prop help...

Greetings and welcome to Iboats. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Search your prop one more time. I found the numbers on mine inside the hub on the engine end. If you can not find anything take it to a prop shop and have them identify it. They can measure it and find out the pitch with great accuracy. If it is damaged they likely can give you a price to bring it back to like new condition. No one will be able to give you a good suggestion for a prop with out knowing what you are putting it on, what it weighs, how you are planning to use it. Best to run it with the prop you have and get performance specs as it is. Need to know what rpm you reach at wide open throttle, how it accelerates from a stop 'hole shot'. Also does it bring the boat to plane in a reasonable time with a light to medium load. With that a suggestion can be made of what will likely give you performance you desire with out having to test a dozen props. Hope this does not overwelm you with information. It is really very simple, just read a bunch of the other posts and see how different each boat respondes to the process. Happy boating.
