Okay
Here's my request: I'm about to embark on removal of an engine from my boat, after managing to get it started and running for the first time yesterday. I need access to the transom to re-core it, plus I may need to work on the motor mounts.

I have the mercruiser 888 stern drive manual (the one from '73) and a similar manual for the 302 ford industrial/marine engine.

Is there another manual I should have? Or ideally, is there a web site with pictures that goes over the process, like engine removal for dummies? Parts of the process are obvious, like "disconnect everything and label the cables" but I need to know things like what I can use to build an engine stand, or whether I can lift the engine by the manifolds.

Thanks again,
