I am removing the 1990 Alpha 1 drive from my boat as well as the 350 mag engine. I'm swapping in a 383 stroker that I'm building, as well as a Bravo 1 drive. I need to figure out what bracket and sea water pump I can use on the new engine. I will be swapping all components from the 350 magnum onto the 383 that I'm installing, which means that I'm still using V-belts.

I have found Bravo sea water pumps for the 5.7 but they are all serpentine belt. Was there ever a Bravo 1 used in a 5.7 liter application that had a V-belt? If not, which pump and bracket might work for what I'm trying to do?

Thanks.

Yes there was a bravo design back around 1990. Typically when looking up parts you'll usually see where they added in other parts for engine models other than the one you may have such as this case. You have a 1990 Alpha to start but if you scroll down you'll see the sea water pump for the Bravo as well like this, SEA WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY(BRAVO) You may also need to know about the small differences for the SHIFT BRACKET(BRAVO ENGINES)

Just about everything you may need to do the Alpha to Bravo swap should be here, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/350-mag-alpha-gm-350-v-8-1987-1995-0b

There's flow control differences between the thermostat housings too.

Let us know how it all turns out and runs, good luck with it.:)

My 1996 has v-belts. Use the serial number from my signature for a parts lookup to find what you need.
