Need Shift cut-off switch

Looking for original, not after-market, shift cut-off switch or assembly for 1979 Mercruiser 470 I4.<br /><br />Mine is cracked and unusable. Anyone know where I can get one?

visit mercruiser dealer. i have done searches on the net and cannot find one listed. maybe someone here has and can post the site. does the switch have any name or number stamped on it? if so, try searching under the company name.

Is the switch your talking about on the shift lever?Or on the motor?

The switche P/N 87-19752A6 or 39670A28 are NLA (No Longer Available). <br /><br />I had to buy the whole shift plate P/N 864363A1.

did this shift plate assembly work without refabrication? We purchased an after-market switch replacement and it does not fit the same.<br />The guy told us to let him know how we modified it to make it work but we havent been able to get it working yet.

Inwolf this came up a few weeks ago,and there is a bulletin about it.Email Doug at Tricitymarine@aol.com.He will get you the correct part number.Include the engine serial number.<br />DHP

I would think any small limit switch would work.<br />The same type of switch is used in many different types of applications.
