I have a 2004 Tahoe q4 with the 4.3 190 horse motor and alpha one drive. Took the scouts out boating and hit a rock with my aluminum prop. It's is 19 pitch and worked great but I opted to buy a SS prop to replace it. Same pitch as alum. Prop but when I used it my RPMs shot to 5000 and my top speed was only 31 mph. With the old prop it was 4100 rpm and 44 mph. I took it back and they said nothing was wrong with it, so today I put my old prop back on and most of the day I was back to form ....but just as we were about to leave I went for for one last jaunt around the lake and aluminum prop started doing what the SS prop did.....5000 rpm and no go ......I did just have the gimble done as well .... Any connection? Sorry for the long post but I need to lean on your experience on this one!
