First, I have a 98 3.0L Mercruiser 4cyl.
I have a (what I think) is some sort of compression leak or busted gasket. You can hear and feel air coming out from under the manifold close to the block near the rear of the manifold. I thought I had a manifold leak and changed out the gasket. Fired her up and heard and felt the same thing. Now I'm guessing that the head gasket (not sure if that's what it is) is leaking.
My questions are; what is it I should be looking for? Is there some sort of test I can do to find out where the leak is coming from? Is getting to that gasket a hard thing...meaning will I need any special tools. I have a Seloc manual but not to many helpful pictures.
