I have a 1971 Evinrude Triumph Hydro Electric / 65hp. Had to replace battery. Hooked up new battery and she fired right up. Well yesterday we had a bad storm and the boat cover blew off. Not sure but I think something in the motor got wet. Went to crank her over and just got a clicking sound. Battery still had juice. It was dark so I didn't take the cover off. I am thinking that clicking sound is the starter motor. It might have died. I want to check it to make sure. What is the best way to go about trouble shooting this problem? Thanks!!!

Hey Heat, sounds like selinoid to me,check battery cables to and from motor! If that's all good tap starter w/hammer but brushes might be bad! Good Luck :p
