Bought this boat from my friends grandma in VA, all that I know about the boat is (from the VA DMV) that it is a 1950 16' homemade boat and that is not what it is, acually it is 20' long and does not look homemade to me, so if anyone has any ideas what type and the year that it is would greatly be appreciated, the trailer that came with it was made in '62 an E-Z Load trailer and the motor is a '61 Johnson 75h.p. have been looking online to see what type it was and who made it but no luck finding any thing that even is close to it, thanks for the help from you good people!!

Slogue you might try The classic boathouse and fiberglassics to see if you can find picture of one like yours.

Sounds to me like the PO didn't want to pay the higher registration price for a twenty footer. And lost the title, so they said that it is "homemade" to avoid the fees for a lost title search.
But then again, maybe they did build a form for the hull, and shot it at home. :)

thanks guys, thought about leaving the shrubbry, but when we got into the boat the whole floor was rotten, so you all know what that means, we tore out the whole floor. and to no suprise the stringers are all rotten to so that is going to take some time to repair, but we all have that kind of time right??:) Well thanks for all the help you guys ROCK!!! :D Will post more pics when we get it all done so that all can see that you can make a old boat look good!!!

If you decide NOT to use the Gilligans Island steering wheel let me know

If it is in usable shape I'll buy it (*if price is right lol)

I love the classic lines of that boat
It reminds me of an Aristocraft Cuddy I once saw with that square windshield down below

Re: Need some info if possible??

thanks for the laughs guys I will take pics through out the job, and it is what me and my wife are calling the eco-freindly boat, hey that is a good name for her the ECO?? or just name it after our little girl, and thought about the Gilligan name to that is what the boat reminds my wife of is the S.S. Minnow thought about naming it Gilligan too, well did get the floor tore out and the stringers are bad too will post pics later, the hull looks to be in good shape, put water to it does not seem to be leaking anywhere, which is a good thing.and about the steering wheel think that is what makes the boat cool so I think that I will keep it for now but if decide to sell will keep you in mind 69Starcraft. Happy Boating!!!!!!!:):)
