i recently purchased a 1984 yamaha 40 h.p. enduro outboard and i have a few questions--1st what is the correct gas/oil mixture?? 2nd on the lower unit there are 4 "plugs" 2 for the lube drain/fill and 2 for a wash (apparently this was a salt water motor and i assume they are to flush any salt water out)There are 2 small 1/16-1/8 holes on the case that lube weeps out on occasion--what are they?? i have had a few other outboards and they did not have these.

Re: need some info

Correct mix is 50:1, gooser. 87 octane unleaded regular and TC-W3 rated outboard oil.

Re: need some info

the holes are to drain casting cavities.<br />the lube that drains from these holes is sometimes unburnt 2stroke oil. check your gearbox pressure and vacuum and for signs of water.
