Found the SN for my engine (70ESL75EJ4288862 1975 Johnson 70HP). I was able to glean from the engine designator chart (great info by the way!) that it is in fact a 1975 Johnson 70HP with a 20" shaft. Can anyone add to that, based on the ID number? One more question, I would like to modify the engine for eletric tilt/trim, is it worth it? I have to rule out a jack plate, way to expensive!!! I'm trying to get on the water for cheap! Thanks in advance! Jet
