How the hell do you remove the front cap? I drilled out the rivets and it wiggles pretty freely, but I can't get it to pop off! Does it need to be gently pried off? In cae your wondering, I'm doing it to replace the rubrail in the spring. ( Yeah, I know but I like to get an early start!)

Um gunner did you pull the rubrail and the aluminum strip off the sides first . There are rivets under there as well :D.

Gunner,

The nose cap has two little tabs that overlap behind the top of the aluminum rubrail, I found the only way to get my cap off was to wedge a large flat blade under and carefullybend the top of the cap just enough to slide overthe top of the rail, the cap bends back easily enough when compressed in a vice or hit with a deadblow rubber mallet. It may not be the only way to do it, but as there were bolts securing the end of my rubrails underneath the cap, I could think of no other way.

I THOUGHT that those two little "tabs" were the problem ,but I wanted to be sure before I started prying. I'll just put a little more effort behind it next time. Thanks for the replies.

Yours must be different than mine because my aluminum strip/rubrail run underneath my front cap.

Gunner are you talking the outside rubrail that runs the outer parimeter of the boat . That should be over your cap not under it . Thats part of its job to help seal the water out of the boat and I havent seen a jupiter yet that had it otherwise someone may have already been into your boat.
