Hi Hayden,
Electric trolling motors are a little out of my territory. From what I hear,Minn Kota is an exceptional brand for these.Depending upon the size of your Tracker,I would look for the most THRUST with the least Power required. Not sure if thats in amps or watts. Most trolling motors are 12v.Also look for run times with fully charged battery(s). :)

I've been using Motor Guides for 15 years and only had 1 problem with a switch and warranty covered it and the repair was done localy...The one I have now is a standard freshwater model 12 volt with 48 lbs ot thrust that is used on a 16' flats boat in saltwater with heavy current conditions for the last 4 years with no problem and it pushes it very good..Reguardless of what you buy stick with 12 volts.. ;) www.bassproshops.com

HaydenB,

I have two minn kotas that I wouldn’t trade for anything ( 36# auto pilot and a 55# power drive). They have composite shafts that wont bend or rust and a weedless prop. The Maximizer series are good trolling motors; they don’t drain the batteries as fast. The auto piolt and power dirves also have the maximizer function on them.

Tight lines and solid hook sets. :D

HaydenB,

I am also a Minn Kota fan.

Just make sure you get the "Maximizer" feature in any model you buy. It does make a difference in battery life.

You don't mention whether you're looking at a bow mount or transom mount.I would recommend a bow mount and you can't go wrong with Minn Kota. They make a great product that is very weedless and service is easy to get if required.
While your on the iboats site, check their boat motor link as they have minn kotas's for sale.

Hayden,

What model Bass Tracker do you have?

What I'm wondering is what type of flooring you have in the front... Is it all one level from the bow back to behind your front fishing seat?
The reason why I ask is because my 1984 Bass Tracker II has a platform level even with the top of the bow for about 18" - 24" back before it drops down about 9-10" to the front flooring where the seat pedestal is mounted. So I only have that 18" wide area to mount my trolling motor, what happens is when I fold up the motor the back hinge bracing and almost half of the motor are not supported by any type of flooring, so I had to add a brace under it so bouncing won't rip the whole motor off when running in rough water...
You might want to consider that when selecting a motor if you have the same type of floor as I do...
Any motor over 40 lbs of thrust will work great for your boat, I'm sure of that.... 55 lbs might be overkill, my Minn Kota is 44 or 46 lbs and it pulls the boat easily, fast enough I can troll for walley's with ease....

Hi Hayden: In trolling motors I've owned Motorguide, Johnson, Mercury,(they do make electric trolling motors)Minn Kota. I personally like Motorguide the best. Comfortable remote pedal, dependable, usually efficient power consumption.
