Hi there,
Just bought a 1985 24' sun tracker party barge. It has a 90 hp inline 6 outboard and I just had the motor serviced, and she runs fantastic. WOT is now at 4300 RPM and I know it should be 4500 - 5000 according to Mercury. Is the current prop pitch the last 2 numbers stamped into the prop? If it is, I have a 17 and was thinking about trying a 15 to get the WOT RPM's up there. Also, Is there a serious danger to my motor running with a pitch that is too high?
Thanks!
