need to check rpm at wot but no tach

can anyone direct me as to what type of tach i can get and how to instal can it be a automotive tach or is it specific I have a 77 model 70 hp evenrude any help would be appreciated

Use a MARINE tach set to "Six" on the back. You have a 12 pole alternator.
You can use a 4 stroke timing light and tach just half the readings.

You could get a tinytach.reasonable,easy to install will fit any similar 2 stroke without regard to poles.Be sure you order enough wire as you can't splice it.
