I've been trying to find a small (5 HP give or take) water cooled, 4 cycle engine and have come up with nothing. I thought maybe I could get one from the company making Coleman outboards but its not happening.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!!!!

What kind of application are you going to use this motor for? Horizontal or Vertical shaft?
A five hp motor that is water cooled is going to be hard to find...if they even make such a thing.

Maybe a 5 HP outboard that someone has hit a log and taken off the lower unit....(or for some other reason has a dead lower.)
You would still have to figure out how to pump water for it, but if you were looking at the Coleman O/B option, you may have that covered.

I`m not sure what kind of application your using it in but I would checkout rc boat engines the gas versions are all water cooled and some of the newer ones make some big power. Here is a RCMK S-520 twin, it puts out 10hp and almost5lbs of torque. They come with pull starters also.

And if thats not enuff they can be combined if need be.

Maybe it would help if you gave us a hint on it's intended use? Water pump, Time machine, spaceship???? many of the smaller motorcycle motors are now water cooled too. I kno know you want gas and 120 lbs is too heavy but more to work on would help.

Why water cooled and does it have to be that small? As Bob said more info needed.

Many air cooled engines are designed to run hours on end such as generators. Onan is one that comes to mind that is known for it durability.

The first one is the same link I provided, not an option. The second link isn't water cooled.

Hmmmm...I reread your initial post and I didn't see any links in it. What are you doing with it?

I don't think such a beast exists at such a low HP in the small engine world.

An outboard or liquid cooled dirt bike engine would be the closest.

I don't know if you're experimenting type, but one idea that has always rattled around in my head is to convert an air cooled B&S engine to liquid cooled. My fantasy is to wrap small diameter copper tubing (like the stuff used for ice makers) around the fins of the block and head, and run water through the tubing with a pump. Just a crazy idea though.

Once again I vote for that small diesel which is 120 lbs but it would be mounted ;)

or

You could use air cooled if you have the proper venting for the enclosure. Even a fan attached to a pulley that runs off the output shaft will provide plenty of air.
