Need to find where my Serial Nr is located

Hello, I tried to get a manual from Mercruiser and I was asked for the serial nr.<br />I have a 1998 Mercruiser I/O 3.0 lt 145 hp<br />I' ve found one number on the engine block, but the Merc form does not recognize it .<br /><br />How a serial number should look like ?<br />Where is it ?<br /> <br />PS. The serial nr on the Alpha One is something like OL208644 ???<br /><br />Thanks

there should be a sticker on valve cover + metal tag on motor - rear sternside of motor...<br />Bruce
