My 2004 Stingray 200LX with the Volvo SX outdrive has just over 100 hrs on it. I'm already thinking about the fast approaching summer and I have big plans for my boat this summer. I've owned the boat for 3 yrs and have never greased the u-joints so I know that they're due.

I know that I have to remove the outdrive. Can anyone tell me the approximate weight of the unit? I've got a Seloc manual that details the R&R process but I'm going to have to figure out how I'm going to support the outdrive when it comes sliding back  .

I guess I should replace the bellows while I'm at it, right?

The outdrive needs to be pulled every 100 hours or yearly, not so much for the ujoints to be lubed, because they probably don't have grease zirks. But you do need to check the alignment, lube the coupler splines, and clean the mess up from greasing the gimbal bearing.

Thanks, Don. Do you know the approximate weight of the outdrive?

About 80 lbs and consider yourself somewhat lucky that you have had no problems with the OD. As Don said, EVERY year you should pull the the OD off and do the required maintenance.
