Hello,
I have a 1986 Larson 21' Delta Conic with Mercuiser 170 and Alpha One outdrive. In the Shifter/throttle control there is a rod/lever that locks it in neutral and you have to squeeze the trigger to move the shifter into reverse or forward. My problem is that the rod/lever that locks the shifter in neutral broke off and I am having hard time finding the replacement. I had a very rough time at the dock as I accidentally put my boat from forward directly into reverse. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can point me to the correct part that I can order, please see attached pictures.

I "believe" your looking for merc part number 817259. Here's a photo of a few online to help you judge this better. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...5.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0&_nkw=817259&_sacat=0

Item number 17, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...&inbr=1989&bnbr=100&bdesc=REMOTE+CONTROL+ASSY

If it's not, here's Merc's part list to look through. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectSerailRange.asp?doc_nbr=Remote+Controls+and+Components
