need to now about water pumps

ive got a 1985 yamaha 115 got it from a buddy of mine and had been sitting outside for about 4-5 years when i got it running noticed that it was running hot and not much water coming out the telltale so i took the waterpump out but everything looks fine nothing real serius i can see, is there a way to tell if the pumps bad, is the line in the engine clogged could use some help, thanks

ya gotta look at the entire coolong system not just the pump. ya got a manual ?

You have it apart. Don't put it back together with old parts. With a new impeller you will at least know that part of the system is good.
