I'm fixing up my '84 Starcraft Islander. Bought 2 new self-parking wiper motors for it. They look exactly like the motors I took off. Each has 3 terminals... (+) (-) (S) The (S) is switched, and is supposed to go to GROUND when the switch is on. Only problem, with my current wiring, the (S) wire is POSITIVE when the switch is ON.

I'm not certain if the switch wiring is messed up from a previous owner, if I am doing something wrong, or, if I bought the wrong wiper motors.

Any help would be appreciated!

What document says "S" goes to ground when the switch is ON? If that were the case, +12 volts into the switch would be directed to ground when the switch is turned on and that creates an immediate short circuit and very likely a blown fuse. I think the switch is wired correctly and the instructions are wrong or you stated the situation incorrectly.
