tough luck:

my 2006 9.9 big foot needs help.
It will start (when it wants), then
not even fire sometimes???

Granted, I've put a remote throttle
on it, but it's electric.
-I've cleaned the carb and fuel filter;
it's getting good fuel...
-I've checked the kill switch
- new sparks
-changed oil....

Maybe someone can tell me what's going
on?

Me and the ocean would'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Idle fuel passages in those carbs are pretty small, often are tough to get every little bit of crud out which can cause starting issues like you have.

The 4 stroke carbs are even tougher, having a series of fuel inlet holes thru the top of the carb that I have had to use a very slim sewing needle to carefully rod out to clear them. Also be sure to remove the pressed in 'plug' covering the idle mixture screw/needle in order to clean that area.
