I have a new 2003 Mercruiser 4.3 220hp fuel injected that seems to be running hotter than it did at first. It only has 40 hours on it. When it was new, it ran at 140 degrees. Now it hangs at the 170 plus mark on the gauge. Being mechanically inclined, I replaced the thermostat. This did not help. I pulled the outdrive and checked the impeller. It looked fine so I reinstalled everything. Running with the earmuffs on the trailer in the driveway, the alarm went off and the gauge was at 210. I took the boat to the river and ran it. It did not overheat, but ran at 170 to 180 which is hotter than it used to run. I think it always was at 140. Any help would be appreciated! It is a long way to the dealer and I don't want to waste his time. Is this normal? Do I have a problem?<br />Thanks in advance if you can help. homelite55@aol.com
