New Boat / Old Fuel...Opinions?

Bought a 2003 Sea Ray with a 350 Mag EFI/Bravo3 with 66 total hours. Have about a quarter tank of year old stabilized fuel (+/- 15 gal.) that I must assume is 10% ethanol. Ran flawlessly two months ago. Due to work constraints, the boat will not go out again this year. Do I put in 50 gallons of new ethanol free fuel with stabilizer and run enough to winterize and distribute? Pump the old knowing it is next to impossible to get rid of? Leave as is and address next year (drained of water, of course)? Thoughts or advise greatly appreciated.

I would drain it and use it in my car, and then fill the boat and add stabilizer.

I would drain it and run a few gallons at a time in your daily driver. Maybe 3 or 4 gallons of old fuel with 20 from the pump. I would also leave the boat tank empty and start with fresh fuel in the Spring. JMI, as I am sure there are lots of different ones on this topic.

Howdy,

I would to what I do every year.

Leave it alone.

Next year, replace the fuel filter, fill it up, and go boating.

That 15 gallons of 6-9 month old fuel mixed with 35 gallons of fresh fuel won't hurt a thing.

Cheers,

Rick
