New boat owner needs advise on maintenance

Just got my first boat, it has a 2007 Yamaha 150 hp outboard. Looking to change the oil and impeller.


Can anyone recommend a good manual to learn how to take care of this. Anyone have any good tips.

Google: Yamaha Maintenance Tips Andy, for instructions and photos for oil changes, water pump replacements and several other repair/maintenance procedures. A Yamaha Repair Manual for your motor might be a good investment so you can learn more about it as you go. Good Luck!

Yea, I got an 08 F150 and do all my own maintenance. I recommend ordering the service manual from Andy at SIM Yamaha http://www.simyamaha.com/, as well as all the stuff you need. They sell kits that have the gear oil, crankcase oil, the pump you need to do the gear case oil, filters, gaskets, etc.. Andy will answer any specific questions, but with the manual its pretty easy to figure out.
